Dr Christal N. Davis PhD

Dr Christal Davis specialises in the treatment of opioid use disorder and  provides psychotherapeutic interventions to patients in opioid treatment programmes who suffer from comorbid conditions, including chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Dr Davis’ research work at the University of Pennsylvania focuses on large-scale, multi-ancestry data to investigate how genetic and environmental factors shape individual differences in substance use  disorder onset, progression, and treatment.

Dr Davis received the 2026 Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Career Development Award and has received funding to lead investigation into risk and resilience mechanisms for opioid use disorder among individuals with chronic pain.
